Gia Paloma, born Karen Christine Catanzaro, was born of Italian ancestry to a small family in Diamond Bar, California. As a child, Gia was charismatic and energetic, displaying an interest in sex from a young age. When asked about her daughter’s chosen career, Gia’s parents have indicated they were ‘far from surprised.’

Gia was a popular and well-liked student, despite her pen chance for bad boys and wild social activities. Though earning straight A’s through high school, Gina could also be found participating in any sexual deviance she could convince her boyfriends and sex partners into, including gang bangs before she was legal to vote.

After high school, she went on to community college. Gia quickly discovered that the straight and narrow was not the path for her, and she began stripping at a local club. It was here that she was introduced to a few of her fellow actors and actresses, and it was as if she had found her calling.

Her stage name comes from the film ‘Gia’ starring Angelina Jolie, as well as from the Spanish word ‘Paloma’, meaning ‘dove.’ Since her first scene was filmed in late 2003, Gia has gone on to perform in well over 200 films.

Gia has worked with a number of large studios, including Digital Playground, Wicked, Third Degree and Evil Angel, to name a few. Many of the movies that Gia has been a part of capitalize on the extreme side of the industry, including triple penetration and throat gagging fellatio. In 2004, she was noted as having been the first known recipient of a sex act known as a ‘donkey punch’, when fellow porn star Alex Sanders punched her in the back of the head in the movie Guttermouths #30.

In 2005, Gia had a close call involving a cocaine overdose in which her pulse was recorded at three times the normal rate of a person her age. Her recovery was speedy, and she proceeded on to the AVN conference, where she was seen signing autographs, in addition to receiving an award for Best All Girl Sex Scene. Gia has come forward publicly as saying her experimentation with drugs was minimal prior to the event, and she has since decided against their recreational use entirely.

Apart from acting, Gia has also directed a number of titles, three of which were included in her series, Nasty Hard Sex. She also collaborated on a film with her ex-husband Coffee Ron entitled Domestic Disturbance. It was in May of 2006 that Gia ended her contract with the federally indicted company, Extreme Associates.

Outside of porn, Gia has a laundry list of dark and dangerous interests, including horror, music, movies, serial killers, pills, painting, make up (she is also a make up artist on the set of many of the movies she stars in or directs), going to live shows, pole dancing, getting drunk and –not surprisingly- sex and porn.
