"My dad is the most excited about my career choice!"

Q: How did you get into adult?

Ashley: I first started working when I was still in England. In all honesty, I just wanted to do modeling when this all started. Often though, when girls seek out modeling, this is what’s behind those ads. My first couple jobs were boy/boy/girl and girl/girl, and basically I just thought to myself that I would do this as long as I felt ok about it. And so I did.

Q: But why the adult business? You just gave up on modeling?

Ashley: It wasn’t really like that. I mean, I don’t mind taking my clothes off and I am an exhibitionist at heart, so it wasn’t that I was uncomfortable. Once I started, and some of the serious benefits started to kick in, it was very hard to think of trying to undo all of this.

Q: What’s the difference between the business in America and in England?

Ashley: There is a lot more professionalism in America, in this industry. In England, it seems like the industry is still really far behind. They don’t take it as seriously as Americans do, and that sometimes makes it difficult to really do a good job, or to even want to do a good job. In America, adult film is absolutely a business. And that’s not really the case in England.

Q: What was it like growing up in England?

Ashley: Good. Really good. My past is really good, and I was brought up really well. It’s such a different pace of life. As much as it is a big place, there is a small feel. People move at a slower pace. I feel like I established all of the things I wanted to about myself prior to coming over to work in America.

Q: What are some like about the business?

Ashley: I get to have a lot of fun. I have met a lot of awesome people, and have made some lifelong friends. And obviously, it sounds cliché, but I get to have good sex. It’s so much different than heading to the office for my 9-5, and that works for me.

Q: Any dislikes?

Ashley: Some of the people you meet, they aren’t the same good people that you meet at other times. As far as I am concerned, there aren’t ranks of people; I think everyone should be treated the same, but there are obviously people who don’t agree.

Q: Do you feel like your health is being protected in the industry?

Ashley: That’s the toughest thing hands down about this line of work. You can have your monthly tests, but you can’t ever really know what someone else is doing, and you put your safety in their hands. If someone isn’t careful with themselves, they will not care enough about you to protect you properly. It’s really hard to stay clean and not pick something up, because there is always something going around, and people aren’t always honest because they want to work, and they know they can’t if they have something. I think everyone should have to prove they have passed everything – not just the AIDS test.

Q: What is your personal life like?

Ashley: Sometimes, I wonder if I even have a personal life! When I am in America, I do nothing but work. I go to work, then come home, then go back to work. I mean I have friends here and I like to see them when I can, but I don’t really go out and party. When I go home to England, I get out all of my partying there.

Q: Have you dated anyone in the industry?

Ashley: I have chosen not to. I just can’t see it working. I feel friendship type feelings for the people I work with, and I don’t see them in that way at all. I think it would be so messy to be involved with someone that is having sex for a living. When one person in the relationship is doing that, it’s hard enough. I can’t even imagine what it would be like for that to be both people’s profession.

Q: How has your family reacted?

Ashley: My parents have been incredibly understanding and supportive. Sometimes, I think my dad is more excited than I am, but I think that’s just because he wants to see me financially stable.

Q: Where would you like to see your career go?

Ashley: In porn, I don’t want it to go anywhere.

Q: So why stay?

Ashley: Right now, I am just having fun, laughing, being carefree. This is for nothing more than fun and for money. If I can secure my financial future, I’m set. What I really want to do is own a business, like my own strip club maybe in England. I am thinking of doing that with a couple of my friends.
